When I first started hosting my own website in 2014 or so, Ghost was a hot new thing, and I decided to try out a self-hosted version, followed by using it locally to generate a static site served from GitHub Pages. Now, I'm finally trying out their paid hosting option, and it's been a blast so far.

Ghost 3.0 is as excellent a website creator as I've used yet. It's easier to setup and use than WordPress and more content creation focused than Squarespace or Weebly. I was getting away with a free Hobby Tier Plan from Vercel running VuePress, which served me okay, but I'm happy to pay a little bit for hosting that makes it easier to actually create while supporting an admirable project at the same time.

Here's to many more years of Ghost being a viable option.
